Day Two of the Field Study: FH Unissula Students Visit Multimedia University Melaka

Continuing the second session of its International Field Study (KKL) in Malaysia, the delegation of the Bachelor of Law Study Programme of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (Unissula) Semarang, made an academic visit to Multimedia University (MMU) Campus Melaka on 26 January 2026.

The delegation was warmly received by MMU's leadership, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasbollah Bin Mat Saad (Dean, Faculty of Law MMU), Dr. Thong Li Wah (Deputy Director, International Collaboration & Engagement), Dr. Nurleyana Wafa (Senior Lecturer, MMU), along with Vice Deans and teaching staff of the MMU Faculty of Law.

The main agenda was a public lecture titled “The Development of Law System in Malaysia”. Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasbollah Bin Mat Saad gave a comprehensive overview of the development and current state of the Malaysian legal system. The session drew strong interest from Unissula students, evident in the interactive question-and-answer discussion comparing Indonesian and Malaysian regulation.

Beyond the academic content, the meeting was an opportunity to strengthen ties between the two institutions. Discussions on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were held intensively, covering future plans such as a student exchange programme and joint research between lecturers.

The Head of the Study Programme, Dr. Muhammad Ngazis, S.H., M.H., reaffirmed the faculty's commitment to expanding its international network.

“We are strongly committed to building a sustained partnership with MMU. This is not merely a visit — it is a bridge for our students to gain international exposure and for us to raise the quality of globally competitive graduates,” he said.

The visit closed with an exchange of mementos and a group photograph, symbolising the synergy between FH Unissula and the MMU Faculty of Law in advancing legal education in Southeast Asia.
