Бакалавриат права UNISSULA

Continuing the third session of its International Field Study in Malaysia, the Bachelor of Law delegation of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (Unissula), visited the offices of the Malaysian Bar Council in Kuala Lumpur. The visit gave students an opportunity to understand how the legal profession is structured and regulated in another country.
The delegation was formally received by the institution's leadership, including Mr. Rajen Devaraj (CEO of the Malaysian Bar Council), Mrs. Sangheetha (Executive, Foreign Relations), and Datuk Arif (Senior Advocate) as the main speaker.
Datuk Arif presented in depth on “The Role and Function of the Bar Council in Malaysia”. As the single professional body for all advocates in Peninsular Malaysia, the Bar Council plays a crucial role in safeguarding the independence of the legal profession, setting ethical standards, and providing legal aid to the public.
He also explained how the Legal Profession Act 1976 provides the foundation for advocates in Malaysia to act as guardians of justice, independent of government intervention.
In his remarks, CEO Mr. Rajen Devaraj commended the FH Unissula students' enthusiasm for learning and stressed the importance of a global outlook for future legal practitioners given the growing complexity of international legal challenges.
Students discussed the comparison between advocate certification processes in Indonesia and Malaysia, and how professional integrity is maintained amid modernisation.
“This visit to the Bar Council gives our students a new perspective on how a legal professional organisation is managed systematically and how much influence it holds within the state system,” said Dr. Muhammad Ngazis, S.H., M.H., Head of the Bachelor of Law Study Programme.
The visit closed with the presentation of a plaque in appreciation of the knowledge shared and the warm welcome extended by the Malaysian Bar Council.
